THE LAW Parts Ways With Bassist, Announces Replacement
April 17, 2009THE LAW, the Swedish San Francisco Bay Area thrash-influenced metal band, has parted ways with bassist Jimmie "Ninja" Frödin and has replaced him with Kristian "Anti-Kristian" Karlsson from INFERIOR. The group says in a statement, "We are positive that Anti-Kristian will contribute with fresh ideas, and his whole presence equals fresh metal blood in the camp."
Rick Ernst — director of "Get Thrashed: The Story of Thrash Metal", the critically acclaimed documentary profiling the thrash metal scene of the early Eighties and its impact on the music scene — has posted video footage of THE LAW's August 30, 2008 release party in Karlstad, Sweden for the band's debut album, entitled "Distorted Anthems from the Suburbs". "Distorted Anthems from the Suburbs" was released in August via Metalcentral Records. The artwork for the CD, which was created by the Polish artist Lukasz Jaszak (BLOOD RED THRONE, THE VISION BLEAK, BEHEMOTH),can be seen below. According to a press release, the disc includes "nine tracks of thrashing anthems inspired by the greats of the '80s, but with a modern touch and some flavors of [THE LAW's] own."
